| Regional Finalists in WELLA Trend VisionsFriday, 16 April 2010 Top Dorset hairdresser makes waves in Wella contestCelebrations are underway at Salon 1336 after Natalie Cranston reached the semi finals of a Wella hairdressing contest – one of the UK’s most prestigious competitions. Natalie, who runs two salons in Winton and Parkstone with her husband Stuart, beat thousands of entrants in the colour category of the ‘Wella Professionals Trend Vision 2010’ competition after creating a striking style for model Rosanna Hemsley. She’s one of just 16 finalists selected for the whole of the south (including Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Kent and London). Natalie teamed up with local make-up artist Lisa Mac and styled Rosanna in clothes from New Look. The hairstyle was clipped to Grade 2 underneath with longer layers on top coloured in shades of red and styled with high-volume curls. She said: “It’s a great honour to be recognised in such a well-respected competition – getting this far is a fantastic achievement, to reach the national finals would be a dream come true. “Wella offered a number of trend themes to style under and we chose Nature’s Goddess. The style I created was funky and vibrant and we went for very quirky makeup. We’ve worked with Wella products for a long time now and take a close interest in their fashions so having them recognise my abilities in this way is tremendous.” She’ll travel to London on May 25 to recreate her style and hopes to qualify for a place in the star-studded national finals. It’s one of a number of achievements for the local hairdresser – as a trainee she reached the finals of the National Hairdressing competition and in 2007 she was runner up in the L’Oreal regional finals. Natalie was previously employed as official hairdresser to the Saudi Royal family.
